Milton Abbas Riding for the Disabled Group provide the opportunity for young disabled children to ride ponies and, through this activity, gain confidence, co-ordination and balance, and perhaps improve their social interaction or communication skills.Riding is an excellent way of giving children with physical and learning disabilities a sense of independence and freedom of movement. The activities and exercises the children take part in are designed to develop core stability, posture, co-ordination and muscle tone. Our RDA group is run entirely by volunteers who give their time freely every week. If you would like to consider helping us by volunteering on a Friday morning or Tuesday late afternoon, we would love to hear from you. You do not need to have experience with ponies or disabled children.Contact Sue Hodder, Milton Abbas RDA Group at suehodder01@talktalk.net or ring her on 07739 469946If you would like to know more about Riding for Disabled or would like to donate to our charity to help us continue to offer pony riding to the children, please also contact Sue Hodder.
